Interview with DAVID WILSON

Published 2016-10-20.
What is your writing process?
i really just sit down somewhere very quiet and and let all the memories, all the emotions flow to the forefront, enabling me to write whatever comes to mind at that very moment.
How do you approach cover design?
with the book i wrote, i actually used our front gate that was literally the only thing still standing from a house my mother and i shared for so long. the only home we ever wanted to know.
What do you read for pleasure?
usually things about keeping in shape and gardening, just two of the things i love.
Describe your desk
my desk is actually a small table that belonged to my mother, something i will cherish for the rest of my life.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
i grew up in the state of Virginia, and i can honestly say because of the beautiful scenery it provided, it had a tremendous effect on my writing because it allowed me to mention it in my book, especially where mom and i lived. it was literally our quiet little corner of the world.
What's the story behind your latest book?
that story is about what happened to my mother while going through the unfortunate process of losing her home, something that will stay with me for the rest of my life because of all the cruelties she suffered.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
so i could tell the world about what happened to my mother.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
the greatest joy of writing for me would be the fact that i get to express my true feelings, things that i need to say.
What do your fans mean to you?
i don't think i have any fans yet, but hopefully someday. i just hope they read my story and can maybe relate to the whole experience, or if not, maybe they can still read it and walk away knowing what my mother and i went through.
What are you working on next?
i'm not really sure about that.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
when i'm not writing, i'm usually trying my best to keep in shape, although these days it's not so easy.
