Interview with David Edwards

What are your five favorite books, and why?
Lord of the Rings - it takes me away from reality.
Treasure Island - because I visited the real version in the British Virgin Islands and read about the real history of pirates.
Biography of Lord Byron - my auntie taught in Newstead Abbey school, Lord Byron's ancestral home and she inspired me to read Byron.
The Secret Seven by Enid Blyton inspired me to write The Black Hand Gang.
The Shadow of the wind by Carlos Ruis Zafon. A brilliant book based in Barcelona where I lived and loved.

Marakumi because his plot is always bordering on the edge of sanity. The best book was Wind Up Bird Chronicle.

Do please join in my moral crusade

Late March, was the worldwide launch day for my ‘kids’ book, The Black Hand Gang.
I wrote it, as a moral crusade to get kids to read. Suitable for 9 -19 yrs old or more!
Now it has gone viral in the USA and Arabia and no.1 on Amazon UK for kids.

The website,

has a free electronic game based on the book, to encourage a child or youth to delve behind the game and find out more from the book.
The book is also free and in all ebook formats from all the main retailers throughout the world.
So this is not for me, it is for ‘kids’ like my son, who can do 3 things at once but only if on a TV, PC and mobile….and keep mums sane.

Please try it and spread the word.
