Interview with Nikki King

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
"Your book really helped me" or "I learned a lot with your book." Those are my favorite things to hear and are what inspire me to continue writing. I find joy in using my own experiences to help others succeed.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on a book about how to improve digestion, but it's going slowly. Sometimes I want to scrap it, but I continue because I think it's an important topic. If your digestion is hindered, then your body can't absorb the nutrients it needs, no matter how healthy you eat. Poor digestion is often obvious from intestinal discomforts like bloating, constipation, and reflux, but it could also be the root cause of a variety of seemingly unrelated things, like eczema, headaches, and autoimmune disorders.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend a lot of my free time outdoors or reading, especially about health-related topics. My time with family is also very important to me.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I was in elementary school, and I think it had something to do with a humongous tomato. I don't remember the other details.
What do you read for pleasure?
It's impossible to pick just one type of book that I read for pleasure. With fiction, I enjoy fantasy, romance, and mystery. With nonfiction, I like to be taught something, particularly about the human mind and body.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My Kindle goes with me almost everywhere.
