Interview with Julia Averbeck
Published 2013-09-01.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing as a child when I wrote Fan Fictions to continue the stories of books I read.
How do you approach cover design?
I normally picture how a cover should look like in my head while I write the book. I take tons of pictures, so I use my own pictures for my book covers. Then I just play around with effects and fonts and when I'm happy, I use the final picture as my cover.
What do your fans mean to you?
I'm glad about every comment I get from the people who read my books and I like to communicate with them. It makes me happy when people are moved by my books.
What do you read for pleasure?
That's quite a mix of different books. I love crime stories but also romances, especially the ones playing in Scotland. Most of the times, I read fiction but sometimes I read non-fiction as well. I love mystery and Science Fiction books and I read many young adult books.
The only genre I don't really like are horror books.
Who are your favorite authors?
There are just too many to mention them all but some of my all time favourites are JRR Tolkien, Diana Gabaldon, Patricia Cornwell and Kelley Armstrong.
