Interview with Tanya Hufnagle

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
it was a horror story, I was like 12 or so.
What is your writing process?
Research first if needed and note taking. Character building. General plan, sometimes written out, sometimes not. Then sit and just write
How do you approach cover design?
I am currently still working out a method for this. I get basic idea in my head of what I want and go from there. I can't draw to save myself, so normally surf the net for options
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My Bible- For guidance and understanding
Any of the JD Robb "In Death" series
Nora Roberts books
Know there are others I have read and reread
What do you read for pleasure?
Murder, Mystery, Mild Romance, Self-Help stuff
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on a farm, but did little with the daily activities on it. Walks in the woods and alone time was common growing up and I used it to let my mind run wild and free
Describe your desk
At moment I'm using a vanity with the mirror off. I don't have an office for a regular desk for writing as of yet...Kids don't stay at home forever, LOL
When did you first start writing?
I wrote my first short story at 12. Wish I still had it...
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's a trilogy actually, but has many different aspects. Murder, Revenge, Rekindled love and facing demons of the past.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
As a way to get my name out there and do what I love doing. The interaction is something I'm looking forward to
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I can be as wild and twisted in my stories and books as I want to be. Some stuff I write may help others.
