Interview with Nikki Moyes

How do you approach cover design?
I used a professional cover designer. After searching the internet for hours to find images I liked, I can across Avicii's song 'Wake Me Up'. I sent the designer the picture of the girl from the music clip and he came up with the cover I have now.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I have a full-time job to pay the bills. Also I read a lot and sometimes I even leave the house ;)
What is your writing process?
My writing process involves getting an idea in my head, creating a music playlist for the story, and spending large amounts of time staring at my screen. Sometimes I even type stuff...
Describe your desk
I have a little sit/stand desk. I own a cat, so the desk comes in handy when he steals my chair.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read a lot of Young Adult, so it's probably no surprise that's what I write. I read fairly widely though - everything from contemporary to sci-fi and fantasy.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My cat. If I don't get up to feed him, he puts his whiskers in my face to check if I've still breathing.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I completed was while I was at university. The writing wasn't very good and I'm currently re-writing it before letting it out into the world.
