Interview with Nina Norstrom

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small suburban town outside Chicago, IL. My writing was a result of my journey that I took through my teen years to adult lifestyle.
What is your writing progress?
Update - On My Next Manuscript: I'm just full of joy! I’ll be starting the process with the Editor; and it's about time. Well, that's what it will take for us to tweak it - sometime (lol). All this time, I've been working diligently on this piece along with the (Spanish) Translator, Caridad Lebbad. I'm just so grateful to have her as part of the team. Now, I have to get in there and roll my sleeves as I pump this baby out to the Doc (Editor). In all fairness, this baby probably won't be birth until sometime next year. But I'm okay with that! As we know (Authors), writing those pages just don't pop out overnight. To get a finished project, we got to work it, work it and work it. So when it's all bundled together, this baby will be delivered (i.e., published) by BQB Publishing Company. And as we move through the stages, I will keep you posted.
When did you first start writing?
I started writng in a journal; back in 1992.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story weaves lies with love, betrayal with deception, drama with murder, while teaching the ultimate meaning of relationships that are built on honesty and compassion. That’s the bridge this journey builds for its reader!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Writing my first story not only provided a venue to move forward in life, but I was able to let go of the pain.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
This vehicle provides a venue to meet other inspiring authors and introduce my works as well.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The story exposed will inspire, educate, and enlighten others.
What do your fans mean to you?
They are a means of connecting in our journey.
What are you working on next?
My next works will be written in bilingual style. In it's writing, this non-fiction will have the reader thinking about their own journey through life - as it evolves around relationships.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spent my time volunteering. It is a passion I enjoy doing.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Guess, it has to be: "Don't have one."

I say that because I'm strictly from the old school of readers. I still prefer the feely, touchy texture a book. And enjoyment of flipping through the pages; while reading the words as written.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I'm enjoying the social medium network of marketing. I tend to read one's book and post its reviews on sites such as: Amazon, Goodreads, Librarything, and Facebook. Of course, there is nothing like "word of mouth" in the span of promoting a good book.

Readers could use our journey as a learning vehicle. The path traveled maybe the road where others have walked along the way, so THEY too are not alone., it should grab their interest to know my mind and spirit was totally out there while writing this story. And perhaps, not the most polished work at that point. Oh yes, there is sensitive language part involved.
