Interview with Nicole Calland

What are your five favorite books, and why?
My five favourite books are The Maze Runner series (The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trails, The Death Cure, The Kill Order) and of course, The Bible.
What do you read for pleasure?
Again, I love The Maze Runner series. I feel so drawn and connected to it, like I always have to know more.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Umm, laptop?
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in both England and Australia. The move, the separation from my family and friends, as well as having to adjust to a different culture, greatly impacted my writing and my emotions that I pour into my work.
When did you first start writing?
Ever since I was younger, I always wrote story books in my free time, though I really took it seriously when I was about 13.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing, for me, is being able to pour little parts of yourself into each and every character.
What are you working on next?
I am currently working on a number of books, but I have got this great plan for a science fiction book that I really hope to get a lot done of.
Who are your favorite authors?
James Dashner and Anna Todd are my two favourite authors of all time.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I listen to music, eat, play basketball, eat, watch shows on Netflix, eat, avoid homework, and eat.
