What's the story behind your latest book?
25 short stories of the biker lifestyle.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I'm on a disability/pension through the VA with no money to pay a Publishing company.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
By giving me insight into the self-publishing process.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To be able to entertain folks, and get my cancer survival story out to inspire others not to give up the good fight.
What do your fans mean to you?
Without my fans, I'd have no reason to write my stories.
What are you working on next?
I have two novels in the works. One is a Young Adult Scifi and the other is a horror story about a motorcycle club.
Who are your favorite authors?
Robert M. Pirsig, (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance). Mark Twain, John Grisham, Sidney Sheldon, John Steinbeck, Jules Verne, C.S.Forester, Hans Christian Anderson, Johnathan Swift, Johann Wyss are just a few.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My second chance at life, my family.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
My family, riding my motorcycle, and working on veterans' rights and problems.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Smashwords and other online ebook lists.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
What is your writing process?
Sit down at my desk, put classical music on and don my headphones before tickling the ivories.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No, I have a hard time remembering what I ate for dinner last night. LOL
How do you approach cover design?
By the story within.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance. Pirsig has a command of the English language that is next to none.
Most of the older classics and some of the newer YA books my son loans me.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
None so far just starting.
Describe your desk
A menagerie of a writers' existence.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in St Mary's Hospital in Hoboken, N.J. and moved to Dayton Ohio with my family when I was around eight years old. My mother was an avid reader as well as the rest of my family which rubbed off on me and gave me the inspiration to put pencil to paper at an early age.
When did you first start writing?
In junior high school.
What is the main reason you write.
To inform, inspire, entertain, and get off the VAs' disability/pension my son and I barely survive on.
