I began writing in five-subject notebooks over thirty years ago after reading one-too-many disappointing romances. Pregnant at the time, I'm not sure if the thought that I could do better was prompted by hormones or what, but that was the impetus to my writing career.

My latest book Circles of Fate (as yet unpublished) is a romantic saga that takes place at the end of the Vietnam War and continues through the Granada Invasion. The book covers nearly twenty years in the lives of Shaunna Chatman & Todd Jameson as the couple are continuously thrown together & torn apart by fate. Through it all is the hand of God as HE brings together people whose lives will forever be entwined.

My writing has been tagged, "Inspirational with an Edge" (tm) and reviewed as "steamier and grittier than the typical Christian novel without decreasing the message. Therefore, it is sometimes difficult to find a publisher who will take my work. That said, most of my titles have been previously published with a small press. I decided to independently publish all reprints as well as any new work that does not fit within the traditional guidelines of Christian publishing houses.

I'm fairly new to Smashwords but the sales of my first title published through this platform (Lori's Redemption) encouraged me to put my other works here as well. I believe by offering so many formats, Smashwords broadens my audience which is the goal of every author.

I love watching a story unfold and my characters grow in their faith.

Everything. As an Inspirational author, my goal is to reach a hurting world with the hope and healing offered through a relationship with God & Christ. Recently I received an email from a reader whose faith was encouraged after reading my novel, The Visionary....This is why I write.

I am in the process of editing Circles of Fate for publication as well as formatting & uploading my titles to Smashwords. I also have 2 fiction works in progress as well as a couple of nonfiction projects under way.

Yes, the first story I ever wrote turned out to be my novel, Tempered Hearts which then led to the series.

I am 100% SOTP writer. I don't plot or outline or anything. I simply sit down and write. When I am actively working on a project I try to write every day.

I've been an avid reader since about the age of four but the first story I really remember being impacted by was The Black Stallion by Walter Farley. I've always loved horses and these books fed that love.

I have two LOL! One is a wooden desk with room for a desktop computer which includes a couple of shelves handy for all the books I read. The other, a regular computer desk, has a stack of books on one corner of the top shelf, pictures and inspirational gifts there also.

I usually pick books by my favorite author and sometimes by recommendation from friends.

I have a professional cover artist. I usually send her the blurb and my ideas and leave the creativity to her and she always does a great job!
