Interview with Penny Numbers

Published 2019-01-02.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My eBook is non-fiction and is the result of my own success with the lottery. It shows you how to calculate the most basic number used in Numerology and what it means. Each month lists the Luckiest Days for each person based on their number. I purchased my winning lottery ticket on one of my Lucky Days and I wanted other people to know their own Lucky Days.
Why did you write this eBook?
I won what the folks in the Florida Lottery Office, called "a small amount of money." Maybe to them, to me it was half of my annual salary. I knew that I had won on one of the Lucky Days I had calculated for myself using Numerology. After cashing the check I started working on determining my Lucky Days for 2019 and I decided to fill in the whole calendar and calculate everyone's Lucky Days for 2019. I also determined the best days to get married in 2019 and the 19 Luckiest Days to Play the Lottery in 2019.
What lottery game do you play the most?
I play the game that I won on the most on. I follow all of the games in my state and then if I see a trend happening in another game, then I will go ahead and play that other game.
How did you learn about Numerology?
I was blessed with a Mother who did horoscope forecasts for a wide array of colorful people for as long as I can remember. She and her friends read tarot cards, which I learned fairly well. I also learned how to read palms and am quite good at that. They also studied Numerology. I recently unearthed her old books and notes and decided to apply it to my lottery playing. I was playing the lottery almost every day, then I switched my playing strategy and started winning.
What is your writing process?
My ruling numerology number is Seven. Like the Seven I am, I need a place to spread out all of my references, notes, and laptop. I like to write everything out long hand first, with lots of kooky notes scribbled all over the margins and bits of paper with random thoughts. Then I sort it out in the order I want to go in. The last step for me is turning on the laptop. When everything had been captured, I like to let it set for a day or two before I got back for final proofing.
What are you working on next?
2020. I think that my 2020 edition will surpass this one, as I will have learned so much. This is my first time doing something like this and I know that future editions will benefit from this learning period.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
My family and I are often found out in the water. We canoe, paddleboard, and swim with manatees. We bike when the weather is nice. When the weather is not nice, I am a member of Postcrossing and exchange postcards with people all over the world.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I use my Kindle. I find that the selections recommended to me are usually spot on.
What do you read for pleasure?
I like non fiction books with titles like, "The History of the Hawaiian Shirt" or anything out of the ordinary. I also enjoy biographies.
How do you approach cover design?
I knew I didn't want anything too over the top. But I did want something that would grab attention. Since design is not one of my strong points, I worked with a professional to get the results I wanted.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I love the Kindle app on my phone and could not function without it. I was always a person who read more than one book at a time, and with the app on my phone, I can read 10 books at one time, and no heavy stack of books to carry.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love all of the research and learning that must be undertaken. I love the gathering of obscure facts, that I will most likely never use. When I do start to write, it is sort of like a runner's high. I am in my zone and nothing can distract me. I don't even need coffee to write, I get a natural buzz.
