Interview with Reece Leo

Who are your favorite authors?
I grew up really loving the books of Richard Adams. More recently I have become a really big fan of John Inman, Hunter S.Thompson, SE Jakes, and Edgar Allen Poe has always been an old stand-by for me.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I am a single mom, so without any doubt my two wonderful and beautiful teenagers are my reason for everything. Every single day.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Of course I read alot. Many different genres interest me. I love movies especially Sci-Fi and Action. I'm a huge comic book geek and I have been known t attend a ComicCon or two. But, my favorite pastime is Hockey. Not only am I a fan, I am Hockey Writer. I have my own website where I blog about the sport and add a few movie reviews from time to time as well.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I have found that social media, the people I follow, are a perfect source for recommendations.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I have a degree in Journalism so I was always writing something or other. Other than the usual school assignments, I can't really remember that far back. I've written several articles and stories that covered sports and/or hockey for a few media outlets where I live over the last few years. I do have 3 children's books and a cookbook that are all almost ready to be published though.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read alot of SciFi/Horror, Crime/Mystery, and of course romance. I also read alot of comic books and graphic novels as well.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I used to use my Android tablet until recently. I currently use my smart phone and my laptop that turns into a tablet to read on. BUT.....I still adore actual books over ebooks.
When did you first start writing?
I began writing as soon as I learned how to hold a pencil to be honest. I always wanted to be a writer.
What's the story behind your latest book?
That is a very personal thing to me. But, I will say that the basis of the story is something from my own experiences. Not all of it, but the general emotion and feelings are my own in a way.
What are you working on next?
I have't quite thought about that yet. I have a few plot bunnies that like to run around in my head from time to time though.
Describe your desk
My desk, huh? Well, other than the usual things I do keep my printer on my desk. But, I also keep a spare lip balm, my lego minifigs, my Assassin's Creed statue and a goalie mask. So, it's a weird mix to be sure. But, I like to be surrounded by things I know I like and enjoy. It helps to keep the creative juices flowing as they say.
