Interview with Michelle Edwards

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm a public speaker, healer, and life-coach. Aside from these, I generally spend my time enjoying life with friends, family, and myself!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No, however I wish I still had it in my collection.
What is your writing process?
Generally, with poetry, a phrase repeats itself over and over while I race to grab a pen and paper to write it down. It all starts with a thought about a moment in my life, and tends to flow from there.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Serendipity by Stephen Cosgrove. I just remember falling in love with that big pink sea creature with the enormous blue eyes. Something about it captured me.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
A hard question because I really love books! Siddhartha by Herman Hesse and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho are both amazingly easy reads with deep messages. The best of fiction, by bringing depth and insight into the mysteries of life through the human experience. I love Anatomy of the Spirit by Carolyn Myss. It was the first spiritual/new age/self-help book I read, and really demonstrated an understanding of the chakras in an enlightening way. I loved The Diary of Anais Nin and believe she really could be my fairy godmother. And, it's loved to the point of cliche, however I believe To Kill a Mockingbird is really one of the best books ever written.
