Interview with GeBe-LLC

How do you approach cover design?
We keep it simple, but ominous.
What do you read for pleasure?
We read a lot of technical books here at GeBe LLC, but we do try to read some of the popular ones. We also like short stories and short fiction, like Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
We have a Kindle Fire, A Kindle Classic, Kindle for iPhone, Nook, and Kindle for iPad. We try to check out our books from each view to see what we can do to improve user experience.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Reviews are worth their weight in gold, but we also have several full scale models of the Quasar Lite Sport Aircraft that our books are centered around.
Describe your desk
In front of a window, next to a considerable amount of aviation test equipment. Selling paper is what we do, even digital paper.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
In the US south. We try to bring the best of the south to our fiction. Ben grew up in Louisiana and Texas, and G grew up near the Mississippi river. G's interest in aviation caught Ben's interest and the two have been a dynamic duo ever since.
When did you first start writing?
Ben started writing when he was 8 years old.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind the first book in the Adventures of Quasar Lite series is too long to summarize here, but think of it as a merging of adventure and technology.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
We are interested in being an indie author as well as releasing print versions of our series once we get finished with the third book in the series.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Getting our fiction out to the world is essential to telling our story and stories.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Doing what we love is both a life philosophy and a business philosophy. Getting work done and slowing to the speed of life is what it's all about. We like to think that we do both of those when we write and provide books to the aviation community.
