Interview with Randy Speeg
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Bringing new worlds and characters into existance.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on my first novel. It's a sci-fi tenco-thriller with elements of horror.
Who are your favorite authors?
Stephen King, Douglas Clegg, Drew Karpyshyn
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Someone has to feed the cats.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Watching bad TV, playing Xbox, and making poor decisions about what's for dinner.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Most of the ebooks on my TBR are fellow authors I've met through author forums.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It wasn't very good.
What is your writing process?
It involves CIA trade secrets and lots of caffeine, next question please.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No, my memory is terrible. I do remember when I began reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King which had a huge impact on me.
How do you approach cover design?
By finding the most awesome image I can which conveys the theme of my book while having a visceral affect on the reader.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I'll give you more than five, but I won't tell you why, read them yourself and find out.
The Dark Tower series (7 books) by Stephen King
The Star Wars Darth Bane trilogy by Drew Karpyshyn
