Interview with Raul Aurora

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Just the fact that it's another new day!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Motorcycles, my pets, long walks, doing modifications around the house that make things simpler
How do you approach cover design?
I may be observing a picturesque view and suddenly it matches the theme / story of my book perfectly.
What do you read for pleasure?
Football reviews, motorcycle reviews, DIY articles, pet advise.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
iPhone / iPad.
Describe your desk
Very neat, minimal stuff, artistic.
When did you first start writing?
When I was about 7 years old. I would sleep write, pretending there was a giant slate in the air and my finger was a stylus. I started using real pencil and paper when I was about 10.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Rejection from the big publishing houses.
What do your fans mean to you?
A lot. My aim is to make my fans become deeper, more proficient thinkers, and break free from undesirable thinking patterns. I believe fiction is a very affective way to plant the seed of thinking which ultimately leads to a more peaceful and fulfilling existence.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?

A tale of extraordinary courage shown by a remarkable man, who dared to stand up for the weak, challenging the ethos of an oppressive and bigoted society, in the process forsaking everything he had worked so hard to achieve and what most people would hold dear above everything else. Most, but not him. Conformity is never real security, just an illusion. Breaking away is seldom easy. Try we must.
