Interview with Raz Cue

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I really enjoy writing answers to questions that no one really gives a good God-damn about. It's what pulls my haggard ass from bed each day.
What do your fans mean to you?
I love my fans, but they wouldn't mean a thing without that kick-ass air conditioner that I had installed late last year.
What are you working on next?
That's top secret, and if I told you, you'd have to kill me. So, technically, I'd be dying to tell you.
Who are your favorite authors?
Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Ernest Hemmingway, Hunter S. Thompson, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The urge to piss and the coffee that will follow, shortly thereafter.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Thinking that I'm wasting valuable time, and need to get back to my keyboard.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Mostly reviews, or word of mouth from trusted fellow word-loving friends
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No
What is your writing process?
Very relaxed, then super OCD editing and rewriting scores of drafts. Plus I throw in occasional bouts of jealous-anger at friends who spit out great stories that need little revision. Fu**ers!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No. I was reading a few books a week, even in kindergarten, The only impact I can recall would be when they closed my school's library after it got condemned, following an earthquake. Does that count?
How do you approach cover design?
With a closed mind and limited budget.

Three stoners make a 1972 VW Bus run on weed. Along the way, they smoked a few fatties, embarked on a high-speed road trip, dodged the law, clashed with mysterious secret agents, and smoked a couple more fatties. So come along for the ride. It’s a fun trip and many other clichés.
The Days of Guns, & Raz's
Price: Free! Words: 121,260. Language: English. Published: July 5, 2019. Categories: Nonfiction » Biography » Autobiographies & Memoirs, Nonfiction » Music » Heavy Metal
"A rollicking account of a paralyzed Gen Xer coming of age in the oft-times sordid Hollywood rock scene of the mid '80s, "The Days of Guns, And Raz's" is a treasure trove of little-known anecdotes from the formative days of Guns N' Roses, LA Guns and other Hollywood hard-rock and heavy metal luminaries. Related in a wry, cynical voice, Raz Cue's memorable memoir is ESSENTIAL reading."
