Interview with Regina Claxton

What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my latest book would begin with a desire to share tidbits of truth with individuals wanting to grow in their understanding of biblical truth and principles. My aim is to encourage people of faith to increase their belief in God and invite people without faith in God to seek to know God.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My favorite books discuss my calling in life and ways to improve as an individual and servant of God. Here are several I would enjoy over the years:
The Holy Bible
Strength Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath
Critical Thinking by Linda Elder and Richard Paul
10 Lies the Church Tells Women by J. Lee Grady
God Still Speaks by John Eckhardt
Team-Weaver: The 10 Greatest Teams in the Bible and why They were Great by Curtis Mosley.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love reading books by Elin Hilderbrand
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Effective book marketing techniques would be word of mouth, vendor opportunities at conferences, and social media outlets.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My e-reading device of choice is my tablet or laptop.
Describe your desk
Actually, I have two desks. One for my PC and the other for my laptop. They provide placement for my books and journals.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I would grow up in Brooklyn, NY. Childhood in New York City would include humid summer nights of running through the fire hydrant and relay races around the park in our community. I love to think of care free days of jump rope and music from the local DJ. My writing is colored by the soul and passion of one the greatest cities in our nation. The love and closeness of family I would experience as New York native would influence my writing.
When did you first start writing?
Writing for me would begin early. Judy Blume would be my favorite author and her books would inspire my journal and diary entries. A creative writing class at the age of twelve would introduce me to writing poetry.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me is to experience with my audience the impact he or she would receive from reading my writing. I am confident the words I write contribute to life changes and transformations.
What do your fans mean to you?
I am one to encourage fans and friends. My goal is to see individuals and families gain meaning from the relationship we share through my writing. I hope to continually have a fresh word to share with my fans through many books in the future.
What are you working on next?
My next book will detail the triumphs of ordinary women from the Holy Bible who would encounter dangerous and life shattering circumstances.

God is not a magician. He does not assume an auto-pilot position with His children. As with other relationships, quality time, trust, and communication are key.He will use circumstances to engage us in a progressive and authentic relationship. Prior to receiving the desires of our heart and sometimes the desire of His heart, He would want us to know Him.
