Interview with Lilisa Williams

When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 1998. I felt that I have something to say to the world about how to overcome some of life's worst problems. As a woman who have suffered and overcome sexual abuse and domestic violence I believed my experiences and triumphs could help the next person. I wanted to write so that I could possibly reach more people.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Release Your Power is what I want others to experience in their lives. I had given so much of my power away to anger, low self esteem, lack of self confidence, drug abuse and sexual immorality and ended up in some very bad, sad and lonely places in my own life. After years of self defeat I finally decided to take a different route and I discovered that a different perspective was needed and the result of my new perspective lead to the solutions to all my problems. I called this solution Release Your Power: 8 Strategies for Becoming Who You Really Are.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Simple, I did not know any other way and besides, I did not think that I was a real writer nor did I think I could get a book published the traditional way. However, I was just in time for the indie revolution and now it appears that self publishing is the "normal way."
