Interview with Brandy Beaudin

What do you read for pleasure?
I tend to read young adult supernatural books for fun. They remind me of my youth. I also enjoy western romance as well, though I do believe I was born in the wrong era, they remind me of a simple time.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My e reader device of choice is my LG tablet because I can read kindle, Nook, Smashwords books on there without having to switch around.
What do your fans mean to you?
Well, since I am a book reviewer my fans are all authors and they mean the world to me because without them I would not have any books to read!
What are you working on next?
Currently I am reading Vampire Slave series by an indie author named Katrina Kahler.
Who are your favorite authors?
JC Andrews, Iris Kelly, Cora Seton, Ransom Riggs, VJ Erickson. Just to name a few
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My husband! Not that I have much of a choice! We are long haul truckers so it's a bumpy ride if you do choose to sleep in late.
When you're not reviewing books, how do you spend your time?
Like I said I am a long haul trucker so when I am not reading for a review or for fun; I have to keep up the logs, cook, take care of our two on board pups and navigate. My real passion on the road is photography!
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I belong to some reviewer groups as well have quite a few authors as friends so they recommend new books and authors. Publishers also send me ebooks and paperbacks too!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your reading?
I grew up in Wichita, KS with highly supportive family when it came to reading. I was 5 when my great grandmother Verna sat me on her lap and taught me to read Stephen King Pet Cemetery and VC Andrews' Flowers in the Attic. I was in love and hooked from there!
What is your writing process?
I tend to take two reads of a book, first one is just for fun, second one I take notes for the review, then I use the notes to make a article/review of 300 or more words and based on where the book is available depends on how long it can actually be, sometimes it's a link only to my blog then to the authors purchase page. Total process can take about a week or so. Much depends on the read of the book.
If you do paid reviews what do differently than a free or for book only review?
I don't do anything different! I make sure I do my best work regardless if it is for a payment or for a book. In my eyes the book is a payment because the author has put their time, tears and sweat into the final product and they are sending me a hard copy to my po box which is a payment as well!
