Interview with Rhonda Fiels

Published 2014-09-17.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Texas, where men are men and women are women. The men in Texas tend to be more polite than some other places, and the women tend to be more feminine than some other places. Therefore, my characters tend to reflect this old fashioned chivalry.
When did you first start writing?
I've written as long as I can remember. And I've often used erotica during my "private playtime." I decided to begin writing my own erotica about a year ago. I found that it's more arousing to write erotica than it is to read it. Sometimes, when writing a particularly hot scene, I've actually had to stop writing and take care of myself.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing is interacting with readers. But even if nobody read my work, I'd still write. That's what writers do, and I enjoy it.
Describe your desk
My desk is the one place in my home that has clutter. I'm somewhat of a neat freak, and my house is almost always ready for company, but my desk is mine alone, and always has books, papers and stuff.
