Interview with Kaitlyn Hyde

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
the first story I have ever read was called the hot dog. the impact it had on me made me feel like I could accomplish anything. if I could read a book, I could do anything! after that, I never stopped reading. I always have a book in hand.
How do you approach cover design?
in cover design, I like to use my imagination. I use special details from the story and blend it all on to make a cover that make since and looks amazing!
What do you read for pleasure?
for pleasure, I read short stories. for example shel silverstien or Dr. sues. mostly because its fast and reminds me of my child hood
What are your five favorite books, and why?
my first four favorite would be the twilight series because I really like how the author was able to use two of the worlds biggest mysteries and turned it to where its all true. I also really like how she was able to use the same idea for all four books. my fifth favorite book would be dark water rising because its a true story and also touching to read. to know what they all went through, really hits home for me.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing about three years ago when my friends told me about wattpad. i found the website entertaining because i got to write my own things and read what other people my age have to write.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
mostly i draw or listen to music to influence me on my next book. other then that, i cook and i like to be with friends.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
growing up, my life was very harsh. my parents always argued and then they got divorced. times were hard for me and my brother. my mom got re-married and he adopted us as his own. years pass and my little brother is born. things are getting harder for my family. so I started writing to get my feelings out and it worked
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
the person that inspires me to get out of bed everyday would be my grandfather. he has cancer, though ever time i see him he has the biggest smile on his face. like he's the luckiest man on earth. he tells me to follow my dreams and to do the things i love. i showed him some of my writings and he told me i will be the most famous authors ever. he told me ill be as good as Dr. Seuss, or better!

Describe your desk
my desk is honestly very messy. it has all of my writings and all of my old pictures on there to help inspire me.
What do your fans mean to you?
my fans mean a lot to me. they make me feel loved and they actually enjoy the things i have to write. i also love it when i hear people talk about my writings and they end up like it too!
