Interview with Zen Buddha

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I am Dutch and currently live in the Netherlands (Amsterdam), however I lived in Southeast Asia when I was 8 - 12 years old. I believe that Experience definitely changed my perspective on the world. I experienced cultures that were very different than the one I used to take for granted and maybe my spiritual interest started to develop there. Since then I have always had a passion for traveling and observing the differences all around the world.
Describe your desk
My Desk can be anywhere around the world. I call myself a Zentrepreneur, this means that I am an Entrepreneur with a (hopefully) Zen state of mind. I earn my money online and therefore I am not bound to any location or time. Currently I live in Amsterdam and in the summers my desk will also be outside in a park, at the beach or at a terrace now and then.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It should give sign posts to people to discover their own potential. The sign posts still show some direction as I deem it is important for people that embark on a spiritual journey to have some direction. The further you proceed the less direction is needed. Maybe my next book will cover that.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To share a universal message with others. I am passionate about personal development and the benefits it has given me personally. I wish everyone to enjoy his own personal realization, whatever that may be.
What do your fans mean to you?
A lot, I always ask for feedback to understand how they feel and where I can facilitate them on their journey. So please feel free to contact me at namaste@zen-buddha.com !!
When did you first start writing?
2012 when 'by accident' I started to develop websites and I took responsibility for the content. As I like the writing and I realized interesting insights during a meditation retreat I felt the urge to try and write a (small) book to share these insights.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Life
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I try to live my life in freedom everyday. I am in the process of planning less and seeing what happens. This seems to work out just fine. Get up and see what you are going to do and if something else pops up and it feels right go for it.

Currently I like to help others setting up their (online) business, do sports (kitesurfing, cycling, swimming) and hang out with friends and relatives or spend time on charitable work.
What do you read for pleasure?
Mainly spiritual / psychological based literature, I just love it (addicted maybe? :))
Who are your favorite authors?
- Eckhart Tolle
- Stephen R. Covey
- Jan Geurtz (Dutch writer, unfortunately not yet translated)
- Thich Nhat Hanh
