Interview with Rose Roushima

How do you discover the ebooks you read?
A high school friend once approached me and asked if my phone has an ebook reader. The moment I found out it has, she sent me stories she have read. And so I began reading. I can't get enough of the ebooks she sends me, so I learned to find downloadable copies, and connecting on Wattpad for updates.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I'm on my way in finishing my first ever story on Wattpad, The Photo Princess. Hopefully, earlier next year, I will be completing its series.
What is your writing process?
Not the usual writing process. I just write what pops out my imaginative mind.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I think it's haveyouseenthisgirl's Diary ng Panget. It made my imaginations even more extensive and had me emancipate different emotions. Because honestly, I don't stick my nose on books before. Not until I had to step another year ladder at school. That is when I'm in 4th year. Which is only last year (2012).
How do you approach cover design?
I have an app on my lappy which I use creating my own cover. At least, I know what style I like.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Cellular phone. It's handy.
When did you first start writing?
Actually, I never know I could write until I discovered Wattpad way back in 2012 and began imagining things and scenes before going to sleep which I put on my notebooks instead. I was kinda shy before to publish it on web. Just right after my HS graduation when I thought of publishing one. XD Lame, isn't it?
What's the story behind your latest book?
Just before I thought of publishing Photo Princess on Watty, there's this certain situation I got hooked in to. It inspired me to write a new story, Beautiful Tragic. (But I'm still thinking of posting it on web.)
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I don't even think I consider myself as an author. XD My writings are not even that good. But it was my classmates (i think) who motivated me. They know I was writing stories on my notes and kept on telling me and asking me to publish it on Watty.
What are you working on next?
Beautiful Tragic. A story based on experience but of so much twists. XD
Who are your favorite authors?
J.K. Rowling, Dan Brown, and of course Diary ng Panget's Author HaveYouSeenThisGirl slash Ate Denny! I love her and her works! XD
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Thinking that when you wake up the FOOD is already prepared on the table? That's quite an inspiration! I love to eat! (I call it inspiration, so please shut it. XD)
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
It's either reading, watching phineas and ferb, or doing chores at home. :-) I'm some kind of a good daughter, y'know. XD
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I don't rate books but I love J.K. Rowling, Dan Brown, and haveyouseenthisgirl's works, so it's obviously their stories that entertained me the most.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
In the humble Province of Sarangani I was born and raised. Even if its location is far from a more civilized world, its people are particular of the trends through the use of media. The moment when electronic books are on course, It got my curiosity and just by then I think it influenced my writing. XD
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To entertain the readers, I guess? Well, I don't have a lot of readers. Just my friends and schoolmates (I don't call them my fans and I never would). But I think seeing them entertained by my works, its enough to bring me joy. At least I know they appreciated it. My time and efforts are not wasted. ^^
What do your fans mean to you?
I don't have fans so I don't think I can answer that. XD
What do you read for pleasure?
I don't pick titles or books I read. As long as I find it entertaining and it gives me pleasure then I spend time for it.
