Interview with Rose Naylor

When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was 5 years old; I drew squares and made the characters talk from 'bubbles' and from there I started writing on paper.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Each story in Book I has a different story, however, my message is clear; these stories are not only to life your spirit and heart, but they are also designed to achieve a better relationship with our Lord.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've always enjoyed writing and my style of writing will help people spiritually; that motivates me to become an idie author.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest job of writing for me is assisting people in making their lives better. I want them to take one of my stories and base it on their own, living situations.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are people who love God and for those whom are trying to know who God is. I love my fans for that reason.
What are you working on next?
I plan to draft Book II sometime before the winter is over. Some of the stories in Book I will transfer and close over in Book II so I'm really excited about that. All of the stories are for adults only, but I do plan to write a few teenage stories probably around Book III.
Who are your favorite authors?
Steven King is my favorite author. He's a brilliant man and his mind is VERY creative. As a child, I've ALWAYS admired Steven King.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I know that everyday will be a day to serve and help people; that is what inspires me to get out of bed each day; knowing that I've helped someone inspires me to close my day.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I LOVE hiking when I'm not writing and there are MANY hiking adventures here in Colorado Springs. I love the nature and the atmosphere.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was when I was 5 years old: I created boxes on a piece of paper; there were characters in each box - from the beginning to the end; I drew 'bubbles' around their mouths to make them talk (such as 1st box mom cooking dinner and son walks in and says "What's for dinner?" - mom would then respond in the 2nd box "spaghetti and meatballs." and the last box was the end of the story. I can't remember what the names of the stories were, but I can recall my brothers wanting to read my work and I didn't want them to read my work.
What do you read for pleasure?
I like to read the Bible. I enjoy Steven King, National Geographic, and a few other authors' work out there. However, I can get more advice and help from the Bible.
