Interview with Rose Wynters

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
As a woman, there are two things I absolutely adore... And they are romance and excitement. And in my books, I get to combine these! So I would say that this is the greatest joy of writing for me. I enjoy creating worlds with werewolves, immortals, fairies, or even zombies, and adding a ton of excitement and romance to the pages. My writing really starts to take on a life of its own at this point!
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are the greatest! I appreciate each and every one of them.
What are you working on next?
Currently, I am wrapping up book 3 in the Wolf Town Guardians series. This series is about a hidden werewolf settlement in Missouri. Originally, these wolves were from Russia, but they ended up settling in a very rural part of Missouri. Hundreds of years later, they have quite the thriving community.... Don't let the rural setting fool you, though. In the paranormal world, a great deal of events is always happening. Mainstream citizens just don't realize it.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
A zest for life! I mentioned before that I love excitement. I love exploring new worlds, boldly going - Okay, I'll stop:-) In all seriousness, though, I think life ought to be enjoyed, each day a new adventure. We can all get caught up in the day to day stuff and end up forgetting about the things that really make a difference. So I enjoy traveling, camping, meeting new people and having new experiences. In another life, I would have been a backpacker, constantly traveling all over the world.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love traveling, camping, making new friends and having fun with the ones I already have. I do a lot of research on the paranormal world. It's amazing how many unexplained things happen, but nobody really hears about it! If I'm not careful, I can spend a lot of time daydreaming.... Which generally results in a new book:-)
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Over the years, I dabbled in different writings. My first serious writing can be found in Rubenesque Rapture. During that time, I was grieving over someone I'd recently lost. And out of that grief, this book was born.
What is your writing process?
You start out with a whole lot of daydreaming... And then you add romance and excitement in equal amounts. Stir in a whole lot of spice, and pop it in your mind overnight. Yeah, that kind of sums it up, at least the starting process.
How do you approach cover design?
I enjoy unique covers with gorgeous men! I want readers to see a taste of what they will find in the pages. Be it the werewolves from Wolf Town Guardians, or the alpha immortals from the Endurers... Let's face it, these guys are total hotties! Not to mention, they seem to always find themselves in some sort of off-the-wall situations. It's a good thing they have the smooth charm that they do, somehow they always manage to muddle their way out of it.
What do you read for pleasure?
Believe it or not, I enjoy a lot of historical fiction... And when I say historical, I mean books that were written at least a hundred years ago. I love the bodice rippers, too. The same could be said for movies, I really enjoy period pieces. I've always wanted to visit London, and see not only the city, but the English countryside as well. I love the thought of a Scottish man in a kilt, and I'd like to see Ireland, as well. So naturally I really enjoy reading books set in these areas or watching those types of movies.
Describe your desk
It changes. I can often be found typing on my laptop in strange places:-)
