Interview with Sabrina Samples

When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was in 7th grade. My first piece was a poem. From there I wrote poetry for three years and then I finally started branching out to stories. I didn't get serious about my writing until the end of 2012 when I finally decided to start looking into getting my writing published.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh goodness, yes I do. I wrote a story with my best friend that was a mash up of all of our favorite movies. we put our own spin on it of course but the plot was a mix of vampires who were in a magical school being hunted down by orcs by a lycan who was in love with a human. Something along those lines lol. Not the best turnout but we managed to get 6 books out of it.
What are you working on next?
I am in the process of working on the next book in the wicked Souls series called Hidden Secrets. It continues from where wicked Souls ended and it follows Spencer as she continues to lead the armies of Heaven in the war against Hell.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The biggest joy of writing to me is getting the chance to create an entire world through my words. I decide how a house will look, how the air will smell and how the character inside of the world acts.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have so many authors that I absolutely love to read, but the two that have always been a constant in my life have been Edgar Allen Poe and Stephen King. Others include Nicholas Sparks, P.C. Cast, and Richelle Mead
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to read when I am not writing. I also love spending time with my daughter.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My daughter is my biggest motivator. I want to show her that no matter what she should always follow her dreams. Do whatever makes her happy in life and settle for nothing less.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I usually browse Goodreads for new books. Sometimes a book is recommended to me or I pick it up on an impulse without reading anything about it. There is also the occasional time when I chose a book simply because the cover grabbed my attention.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have a kindle and I absolutely love it. I am able to take all the books with me that I want without being bogged down with the weight of them all.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean the world to me. Without them I am just another writer among the crowd. My fans help me stand out as a successful author and I love each one of them for it.
Describe your desk

I have my laptop which is covered in stickers as well. on the two small shelves down the side of my desk I have a binder which holds all the ideas for my first book, Wicked Souls and also for the book I am currently working on, Hidden Secrets. there is also the cup holder for all of my pens and pencils and a folder with extra paper for my printer.
