Interview with Saim Cheeda

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Muscat, Oman. There were always limited career options in the country and I went for accounting as it seemed the most feasible. However, my passion has always been reading and putting my thoughts on paper to share with others. The influence stems from pretty much anything that gets me thinking and I end up lost in my thoughts eager to write them down.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing at 16. My sister was my motivation as seeing her write made me want to follow suit. I began writing on wattpad.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's a love story between two distinct individuals. I wanted to show how pieces missing from a person's personality can be filled by finding someone who helps you fill the gaps that you might not know you have.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I just want to break away from m current career trajectory as Accounting does not bring me any motivation or satisfaction. Writing has always been a delight and I would like to see where I can go with it. I'd love to have honest feedback for my work.
What do your fans mean to you?
If and when I get fans I would consider myself the luckiest of people. Just to have loyalists who appreciate your work is an honor of its own and I would love to discuss my work with them, I'm sure it will only motivate me further.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on several other novels, all varying in genre. My book When it's time to Move on is available on wattpad and I have completed it halfway. Other book are on the beginning stage and I hope to complete them soon.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It was a story called The Masked Marauders. A short story I was inspired to write based on an imaginary game my sister and I used to play.
Who are your favorite authors?
I'd go with J.K Rowling and Dan Brown
What are your favorite books?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The Da Vinci Code
Where Rainbows End
Describe your desk
I prefer writing in bed.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Whenever I receive feedback or a new fan.
