Interview with Sarah Makela
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me is going on adventures with the characters in my head. I love experiencing the worlds they live in.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I enjoy spending time with my husband playing video games and watching Netflix. I also love playing with our cats.
What do you read for pleasure?
I enjoy reading New Adult romance (contemporary and paranormal), urban fantasy, and adult paranormal romance.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I tend to use the Kindle App on my smartphone.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to become an indie author because I liked the idea of taking more control of my career.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Karen Chance, Ilona Andrews, Kelley Armstrong, and Laurell K. Hamilton.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I typically find them by browsing Amazon's bestseller lists or through Facebook.
How do you approach cover design?
I hire a cover designer. I tried to do my own cover for The Amazon Chronicles, but I quickly realized I was in over my head!
What is your writing process?
I think I'm still discovering my writing process, but I do know what I do varies with each book.
Describe your desk
My desk is black and silver. It's nice, but I'm hoping to upgrade one of these days!
What are you working on next?
I'm working on writing more books in the Cry Wolf series. I can't wait to share them with my readers.
