Interview with Shaleah Patterson

What is your e-reading device of choice?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Promoting on Instagram
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in upstate, New York in a suburban area. I've always been a very quiet person which meant I had a lot of things on my mind and a lot to say. Writing became an outlet for me to express what was on my mind. And I just never stopped.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing in elementary school. I read A LOT. Therefore, I had lots of ideas, a big imagination and so much to say. I started by writing fiction novels about a little girl. And I just keep writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is about belief. A lot of us go through phases in our lives in which we just don't believe in ourselves, in our dreams or our abilities. This book allows us to see the deep rooted false limiting beliefs that we attach ourselves to and never let go of, and teaches us how to let go of them and create new beliefs for ourselves that serve us.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy of writing is getting important messages out into the universe for others to learn from. My story may just help someone else. My knowledge may just help someone else. And that is my greatest joy: helping others.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Jen Sincero, Carrie Green, Stephenie Meyer, and so many more.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The joy of a new day; knowing that I was given the chance to live another day and make a change in someone's life.
What do you read for pleasure?
For pleasure, I normally read something like the Twilight Series or some kind of fantasy fiction.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I guess we'll see won't we!
What do your fans mean to you?
Without them, I am nothing. They mean everything to me!
