What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean absolutely everything to me! I love the interaction that I get with them. The emails, comments and ratings... I really appreciate all the support. I think it's great!
What are you working on next?
I'm currently working on the sequel to my latest release, The Spirit Within. This next amazing story is going to be even more inundated with the supernatural. I'm really excited about it!
Who are your favorite authors?
There's so many great authors out there that it's hard to decide, but the ones that really grab my attention the most are Anne Rice, Stephen King and even the classic Bram Stoker. I love spooky things.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My family. I'm huge into the whole idea of spending time with my family. They're very important to me.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Hanging out with my family by checking out the latest movies or visiting local museums and parks.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything. It really doesn't matter to me what it is because I love expanding my mind. From reading fiction we can learn to broaden our imagination and from reading non-fiction we can learn an unlimited amount of knowledge. I even love reading those little brochures that can be found in the waiting rooms of doctor offices.
When did you first start writing?
I began writing well over two decades ago when I was about twelve years old. It started off as simple poetry that later progressed and received worldwide recognition from The International Who's Who in Poetry and then slowly escalated into other things like my children's book, Sydney & John and then to my latest release, The Spirit Within.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Being able to create and bring to life my over-active imagination. I believe that writing is a wonderful way to express oneself. I love writing for my readers and giving them something that they'll enjoy reading over and over again.
Describe your desk
Messy with a little organization. I've got my trusty laptop sitting next to some pens and a notebook full of scribbled down notes for my writing.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was a country girl in Beech Bluff, Tennessee. I'm the youngest with two older brothers. We were always playing outside, swimming and creating things to do. Just being a kid is what I think helped spark my vivid imagination.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The Spirit Within is about a young lady named, Cassy, who eventually discovers her own personal strength after experiencing some really tragic events in her life.

I wanted to create a story that people can easily relate to because regardless of who you are, we all go through very trying times in our lives. But if we take those negative things that have happened to us and turn them into something positive, then we can overcome anything that tries to weigh us down. There is always a light at the end of every tunnel. It just takes a brighter view to see that.

We all need to find the spirit within us.
