When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm a domestic violence advocate five days a week. I seldom get a chance to write because some of my cases are kind of crazy right now.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I heard people talking about books they found on different sites. They didn't have to wait for them to come in the mail , so that was perfect for me. I hate waiting.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, an it was called the Mythical Creatures of Milshem. It took me four years to write it.
What is your writing process?
I try to get up early in the morning! I focus more when my husband and children are sound asleep.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I think the first book I read was To Kill A Mockingbird. It was really sad. I didn't know racism could be so ugly.
How do you approach cover design?
I try to find pictures that inspire some kind of emotion out of me.
What do you read for pleasure?
I like to read Romance novels for pleasure. I try not to read anything that I write.
Describe your desk
It is very messy. It's too bad I can't take a picture. I have cans of soda on my printer.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the country, and I think it had a big influence on my writing. I used to walk down the road making up songs about the trees and wind. I have always been a free spirit and I think writing lets me be that spirit.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing after my mom died. I didn't know what to do, so I turned to writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have seen so many things happen to women, and if anything I just want them to know, there are ways out of bad relationships. I guess my latest book is a book about the women who take chances and live their lives.
What do your fans mean to you?
I love my fans. It means the world to me when someone takes the time to look at one of my books. There are so many other people they could have spent that second or minute on.
