Interview with Sheryl Nantus

What are you working on next?
My new series comes out with Entangled Publishing in August - Her Alpha Warrior, Book 1 of Odin's Bastards!

It's a bit different from what I've done before, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it - if you enjoy reading about strong, tough men and the Valkyries who love them....
Who are your favorite authors?
Wow... so many... Nora Roberts, Kit Rocha, Tessa Dare... As you can see, I'm all over the place here. But that's the best thing about books - there's so many to enjoy!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Nothing. Maybe the smell of fresh coffee...
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to play board games - my husband and I go to the Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio every year for our wedding anniversary! I also enjoy reading and crocheting, writing haiku when the mood takes me...
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Usually word of mouth - or advertising on Twitter!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do!

It was a lovely short ditty called "Be Kinder to a Binder" and detailed the recycling life of my old school binder into a brand new binder!

I put it down to one of my teachers being VERY pro-recycling... I AM Canadian, after all.
What is your writing process?
Blood, sweat and tears. Only way to go. Work until you hate the words, walk away and come back to do it all over again.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Oh, my... not really. I started reading very early, working on the newspaper comics when I was about three. And never stopped.
How do you approach cover design?
I hand that off to the wonderful, talented artists who know what works for a cover. That's their glorious gift and thank God for them!
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Wow... can't do that. It changes almost daily.

But here's a few I've devoured multiple times... The Jungle Book, Ivanhoe, Naked in Death, Bloom County (comics), Watchmen (graphic novel)... you get the idea.
What do you read for pleasure?
Nonfiction, usually. Love me some good historical books!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I've got a tablet with all my Nook books on it - it also has the Kindle app, but I prefer to support B&N as far as ebooks go.
