Interview with Shubham Sharma

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grow up in a small town called Pathankot in the Punjab State of India, It's not a very small town but it's nothing in front of bigger cities like Delhi. In my first fiction which I am writing right now, this city has a major role to play but talking about the books I had already written then there is no a big impact of my hometown because most of them are Non-fictions.
When did you first start writing?
well, It was in 2015 when I first publish my ebook on Amazon, before that I spend nearly three months in writing that story since that was a short story so I manage to write it in short period of time.
What's the story behind your latest book?
No story, It's a Laptop Buyers guide. I did a lot of research before buying my first laptop and I use all that knowledge for writing this book.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
It's funny but frankly speaking, It was a breakup which forces me to write. I was so stressed and embarrassed after that breakup that I start writing all the thoughts and memories. It was when I realize that a story is shaping up and I end up with my first ebook.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Not so much, I hardly earn anything from Smashwords but am positive about the future. Firstly they need to make the process of publishing simple like Kindle and thirdly they should stop asking for TIN number. It's very difficult to get inclusion in Premium Catalog which is very frustrating.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I can stay at home and enjoy my life. I get a lot of time to do those things which I really love and more than that writing give me joy.
What do your fans mean to you?
A lot.
What are you working on next?
Hmmm, well am still working on my first Novel, My first short story which is not anymore a short story, It's almost a Novel now but still lots of work to do on it.
Who are your favorite authors?
Jk Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, Chetan Bhagat, John Green, Nicolas Sparks etc. well the list is long.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Pain in back, well no one can stay in bed for long.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading, Am a reader first then a writer. I read a lot.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Google or amazon.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, am still working on it, I used to call it Endless Love.
