Interview with Katherine Lynette

What do your fans mean to you?
I have few fans right now. When I get more of a fan base though it will mean a lot to mean. My fans will keep me motivated to keep working and not give up.
What are you working on next?
Right now I am working on revising one of my short stories that I wrote in 2008. I have a trilogy lined up as well that i am not finished with.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm working, training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, working out or hanging out with family and friends.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, actually I do. I was a little kid and I loved animals. My first dog was a Dalmatian. I wrote a little story called my dog spot even though i had named my dog Pokey... (yes from Gumby which was playing at the time my parents hurried me to name him)
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I can't remember.. I was always reading books as a kid. We had a program called Accelerated reader. You got points or rewards the more you read.
How do you approach cover design?
I asked one of my friends to design the cover for me for Mystical Quest.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love books about fairies and fallen angels.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I don't really read ebooks much. I prefer print books. Plus, I love the smell of books.
When did you first start writing?
As far back as I can remember as a kid, I started writing poetry.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind Mystical Quest is partially based on my feelings. The girl Sylvia is lonely and sad. She always wished to be elsewhere and to find happiness. A lot of us can relate to that. I dealt with depression quite a lot and I felt alone a lot. I always wished I could just be in a different land where I felt I fit in more. So I suppose that is where the idea of her being teleported to the medieval age came from.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Oh where should I begin? It allows me to create my own worlds... to bring them to life from my head and share with others. It allows me to vent my feelings. Writing is so therapeutic to me.
