Interview with Siobhan Corcoran

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I remember that I loved to read the Famous Five and the secret Seven adventure books and as a result I made up stories about similar characters the stories were titled the Tricky Three. It's a long time ago now.
What is your writing process?
I tend to get an idea and mull it over in my head for ages before writing anything down. I often go hiking for an hour to help get the story straight in my head.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I love Stephen King I think my favoutite book of his is Thinner, it was the first book he wrote that I read, I have read all of his books. I also love Catch 22 and the Alchemist, Pride and Predjuice a favourite classic and Anne Rice's vampire books
What do you read for pleasure?
I read thrillers mostly but I also love the classics and I also love to read biographies and true crime.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I only have one e-reader and its a Kindle but I think that any e-reader would be acceptable.
Describe your desk
Kitchen table when I'm home alone, if the kids are here I tend to write in my room for the peace and quiet
When did you first start writing?
I have always loved to write, my first writing was probably essays for school, the only homework I always liked to do.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love to write and I love to read. There are millions out there like me looking for the next story.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When I've finished writing for the day I always feel happy.
What are you working on next?
I am working on two different ideas, one is about a serial killer who lures people to his hotel in a remote part of Ireland and the other is quite different it is about a young widow struggling to come to terms with her husbands death and how she copes with love, life and bringing up a young family.
