Interview with Solomon Summers

What motivated you to become an indie author?
My true passion is music and film-making, but writing is heavily involved in both of those mediums of art so I'm motivated by the simple fact that... "You can't do something a million times and not be better at it by the end."
Its a truth of this world and more people should apply that to everything they decide to do in life. I decided to be one of those people.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
That there is nothing. But from nothing came an idea... With an idea came the drive. The drive will bring a way. I'm going to find my way. And when I do I will have created SOMETHING from NOTHING.
What are you working on next?
I have a screenplay that I've been working on for three LONG years now. Its far from finished but its a piece that was inspired from real events and people in my life and means a lot to me from an artistic standpoint. I hope to one day be able to see it brought to life. In reality it is a film that would require an exceptionally larger budget then I can provide independently so when it is finished I plan to send it out and see what happens. In the meantime I have a good amount of various short films I plan to shoot within the next month or so as well as some satirical sketches and parodies. They are mostly for practice, but I have no intention of putting out anything I'm not proud of so they are only "practice" by default.
What do you read for pleasure?
I used to read different fictional novels. Now I only have the time and patience to read something I can learn from. BORING!!! BUT... I can put that to use where as a fictional story at my age is only good for studying the structure of the story. As for the entertainment value... I'm watching a movie.
