Interview with David Swan

How do you discover the ebooks you read?
The e-books I read are written by well-known established authors.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was in an English writing class while I was in the RAF Police. The tutor mentioned that I had a great imagination but it would be twenty years before I would set pen to paper.
What is your writing process?
I get excited and then I write in a disorderly manner, spelling mistakes, no concern for anything, and then I stop, look back and go,'what was that?'
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember The Rats by James Herbert and just enjoying the suspense and tension and I enjoyed those fiction books when I was 16 and still do. I also read Ben Okri's The Famished Road and thinking 'damn' this is literature. I want to find somewhere in between.
How do you approach cover design?
I don't have much cash so I think of an idea and then try to make it myself. Hopefully the cover pulls the reader in and gives them a jist of what the story is about.
