Interview with Stella Wright

Published 2014-03-09.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The main thing is having the complete control of your baby (ebook). The best thing is the direct interaction with the readers. According to me, an author exists solely for entertaining the readers. Now, with self-publishing, the authors have transformed themselves into entrepreneurs and its definitely a boon. They have more power, and with that new trends shall emerge in the creative field of writing. Readers can expect to experience the unconventional shift in writing and the way they been enjoying stories.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords is like a catalyst in my case. Instead of publishing the same story in dozens of sites its easier to upload once on Smashwords and get the same result. The process is quite author-friendly and super easy. With the right material you can just do wonders. Excellent work by Smashwords team!!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The thought of people reading my story and being satisfied is the greatest point of content. I am not being complacent here, but yes I believe that an author must quench the thirst of the readers by providing a good entertaining story. In my opinion the way the readers are exploring new areas of creativity, i can say there is space for variety and cult. the success for me would be to make readers happy through my stories.
What do your fans mean to you?
My readers hold the top spot when it comes to priority. Giving them a good story is my motto. I believe that an author is an outcome of a reader's thirst for something interesting. My fans mean everything to me.
What are you working on next?
Well, instead of erotica, i am planning to venture into romance because beauty lies in the shadows. Something hidden is sexier than exposed. Needless to say I am a learner and so I am improving.
Who are your favorite authors?
Nicholas Sparks, Cetan Bhagat, Dan Brown, Sidney Sheldon
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I don't quite know the answer to that, but all i can say is to smile at the sun and warm my soul with it's golden radiance. i can't get close to my dream lying in bed.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Music, i love it. I love to compose songs and sing as well. Reading about the supreme mind is another hobby. Watching movies and imagining new ideas are quite the ones that keep me busy when I'm away from my writing pad.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
It depends on my mood. i don't cling onto some genre. I just explore the genres and sometimes the covers are intriguing too. the best method i use is to read the synopsis.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was about a paradise visit. but it was really long time ago, feels like in previous birth(chuckles).
What is your writing process?
I don't want to confuse the readers using sesquipedalian words to decorate my story.I concentrate more on feelings between the scene and the characters. I keep my writing simple and lucid so that readers can well understand my story and enjoy it.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
the first story i read was Sherlock Holmes and yes, i was quite a detective for a week and that inclined me more towards suspense and thrillers.
How do you approach cover design?
i like to design my own cover and yes if i have the budget i wouldn't hesitate to take expert's help.
What do you read for pleasure?
i like to read roance, suspense, horror. Mystery has always attracted me to it.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle
When did you first start writing?
i started to write when i was around 6.
