Interview with Stephen Dew

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The though that something new will happen. There is always a challenge, and I really enjoy the end result of a days work, day in and day out.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to dabble in Hydroponics and have a small setup in my garage. The kids also keep me busy as well.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Perth and moved to Melbourne in latter years. In Melbourne, I started to write business papers, and I found I was good at it. After returning to Perth, I traveled and settle in Cambodia where I I got a job teaching academic writing to under grads at a well renowned uni in Phnom Penh. This is when I started to write more, and I knew what topics needed to be discussed in my Academic Writing Skills series.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My iPad is just the bees knees
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Helping ESL students become more proficient English writers.
When did you first start writing?
Around 2012.
What is your writing process?
I use the same process I teach in my Academic Writing Skills series, but It is much larger. I like to write a series of posts for my website. Then I combine the posts and format a book for ESL students to enjoy and learn from.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The latest book is an English grammar book for writing. It contains tons of questions and answers related to many aspects of English academic writing.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. haha. They support me, and I try to support them as much as possible. Remember I'm a one man show.
What are you working on next?
Good question. Right now, I'm working a very basic writing English sentences book for beginners. I'm posting info on Facebook, and I'll use the data for my 6th book.
