Interview with Tabetha Thompson

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
My drama class in 8th grade had to read The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton then we made a movie. It was probably one of the best memories I had of school! Everyone had to come up with their own words to fit the scenes from the book. It was hilarious!
What is your writing process?
Honestly, I just sit down at the computer and type. A few days later I go back and edit whatever I have written down until it makes sense. Then I repeat the process until its done.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
You know I don't. I'm sure I wrote something for school that was lame and extremely boring but I don't remember. Other than the few paragraphs for my friend and a few hearts in my journal The Friend zone is the story I can remember writing.
How do you approach cover design?
I was looking at one of my best friends daughters senior pictures one day and stumbled across a picture that I though was gorgeous. So I asked if I could use it and she said yes and viola Hannah made the cover.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I love love love anything Amy Bartol! The way she writes makes it easy to get lost in her world of make believe!
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything romance.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have a nook HD and I love it but...I have a kindle to and I also love it. So I guess both?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Emailing bloggers and begging them to read and review my books. Blogging myself has worked well to.
Describe your desk
My kitchen table. I am currently looking at a pack of poptarts and a capri sun compliments of my children.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Ahh, well I was born in Savannah GA but I am a Army brat so I have lived everywhere between Germany to Texas. Its not so much as where I have lived thats influenced my writing as what I have been through.
When did you first start writing?
I have always kept a journal filled with little stories but I really sat down a year ago to pursue my writing career.
