Interview with Tara Jadestone

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Nope. I've been reading since forever. I can't recall a specific title at all!
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Ella Enchanted, hands down. One of the most amazing reads I've ever come across. It's a fairy tale retelling with the best curve balls and characterization. I know I've read that book over 5 times.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read fantasy adventures. Or just adventures in particular. Anything that can tell me a savory tale to make my time worthwhile.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My mobile device or tablet.
Describe your desk
A computer. That's it. My brain and heart, all in one.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I really had no choice. My family never had the extra cash for me to spend hundred to thousands of dollars on my writing. We just couldn't afford it.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I just love the thrill of writing down adventures and scenes and wrapping it all up in a cover!
What do your fans mean to you?
They mean everything. I take the world as it's given to me, and my fans are the ones telling me my strengths and weaknesses.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It's helped me boost my confidence. People have downloaded this book, and while my book is free, it's just been a relief that people are interested.
How do you approach cover design?
I go for appeal. If a book cover has appeal, it has an audience.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Online communities like Wattpad and Tablo.
