Interview with Rose Verdict

What are your five favorite book series, and why?
Hmmm...top five...is that seriously a question? [Oh, it is? I thought they were kidding. Drat.] I guess Harry Potter, Amanda Ackers, The Seems, The Unicorn Chronicles, [STOP LAUGHING IT'S NOT GIRLY AT ALL!!!] and the Morcyth Saga.
What do you read for pleasure?
BOOKS AND FANFICS! XD Next, please!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Nook Simple Touch. I've never had a Glowlight version, but my Nook saves me in classes when I'm about to fall asleep due to sleep deprivation. Life is hard.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
When I look for a good book, I look for things my favorite authors like and try them.
Describe your desk
Don't you mean the mess that is my backpack? I don't have a desk, just a bag that is SOOO HEAVY from all the notebooks inside.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
First off, I'm still growing up. But I'm being raised in a Christian home, which means that I simply can't type the actual swear words. I just...don't like them...MOVING ON!
When did you first start writing?
I was 10! I've been at it for 5-going-on-6 years, yay!
What's the story behind your latest book?
Ah...I have a lot of things going on, but my latest fanfiction is in the Vocaloid fandom on FanFiction.net. It's about a sophomore in high school whose best friend betrayed her in 8th grade, who then runs home to find herself in the world of the Vocaloids. Due to wibbly-wobbly timey-whimey, however, this is before many of their songs were released, and they are falling away from their....destiny, so to speak. Now, with the help of our girl, Momoko (who was born Mary Jane, go fig), who hasn't spoken in years, they'll have to set things right. Also, there's this whole alternate plot following Momoko's ex-best friend on Earth as she uncovers a conspiracy which split the two girls up.
My newest original story...I'll get back to you on that...
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Uhm, I tried (and failed) to read a book called "Peace Warrior" but I couldn't get past the 15 F-bombs on the first 2, 3 pages. So I'm gonna flush those books out with my own, clean works.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I haven't succeeded yet, but for a girl who's not quite old enough to work or to drive, the free is very appealing. ^u^
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I get to share the hilarious craziness that goes on in my head with the rest of the world! >u< Yay!
What do your fans mean to you?
PEOPLE LIKE MY INSANITY?! There is still hope for me yet!! XD
