Interview with Terry Minett

What is your e-reading device of choice?
Probably Kobo, I like the software they use.
Describe your desk
My lap and the sofa.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The weather.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Travelling, I travel whenever I can. Most of my writing comes from what I have seen or done while travelling.
What do you read for pleasure?
I prefer fiction, autobiographies always interest me.
Who are your favorite authors?
I don't have any favourites, I just want to read a good book whoever writes it.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Gloucestershire surrounded by countryside. Parents did not have the hang ups of today's parents. We were allowed to go off into the hills and make our entertainment. This is probably why I want to be moving all of the time. Staying in one place is very difficult for me.
What are you working on next?
A book called the THE BAR, should be published in 4 to 6 weeks.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My next book is about a bar. The main character is an ex-pat teacher who spends his life there after the death of his girlfriend. If you join him you will meet the other people who use the bar, learn about their lives. You will see the goings on inside the bar, the odd fight, people enjoying themselves, the ladies of the night.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
