Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was nearly killed in Reno,
Alaska saved my wits and soul to the very end.
Various elements of that salvation is in all of my writing, I believe. Even right down to titles, like the DEAD DOG SALOON -which was a bar I lived near for a time until they shut it down for a certain reason. The new police station being built DIRECTLY BEHIND IT probably helped.
To the very end.
When did you first start writing?
At the age when we were all writing fan fiction stories about sonic the hedgehod or Chip n Dale rescue Rangers beside crayon illustrations.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I'd like to be any kind of author. I just want to share and be met with in my own worlds. I'd like to create a population where there isn't one and manage to do it without any kind of physical interaction required.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
If I don't get out of bed my daughter will spray the dog with adhesive spray then tell me she thought it was hairspray and how she was trying to get the poor thing pretty. My son will eat all the chips and either one will probably start a fire somewhere.. if I don't get out of bed... so I better get out of bed. That's more of a motivation than an inspiration.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Fighting children. I mean parenting.
What is your writing process?
Sometimes I'm bored, sometimes I'm jealous, sometimes there's a craving eating up at me from deep down in the beast and then I'm gone. You start with one word and then argue on into the second and after the third, half the story has gone by.
Some agree that it's called the Zone. I don't believe the Zone is map-able either.
How do you approach cover design?
I try to pay other people to do it.
What do you read for pleasure?
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have a kindle fire. I don't remember why I was so reluctant to get one... but then once I bought one.. someone borrowed it.. AND RETURNED IT WITH HUNDREDS OF SUPER MAN COMICS ON IT.. and I wet myself. The kindle is an amazing storage system like I've never experienced. Remember, I'm poor and from the country. The first time I saw an Ipad in Walmart I could have shrieked Holy Star Trek Come To Life For Real.
I have a kinde fire and I am happy.
