Interview with Evangelist Mary Reynolds Kennedy

When did you first start writing?
I actually began writing, when I was in the first grade. I would listen to those who had the crushes on each other, and would write a booklet about their life together. I would show them as grown, with children. I even wrote a few, where one leaves them or dies off. I was around 7 years of age, when I begin writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
There is really no story, just facts about what it feels like, after the destruction of sexual abuse, has taken control of ones mental state. It has pieces of my life story, along with some other research and factors. This book shows one how to overcome the obstacles of feeling left behind in a world due to the mental malfunctioning of incest, sexual abuse and rape.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to reach out to everyone, no matter where they were. I wanted those who are hurting, to know they are not going through this alone. There is help, hope and restoration out here, waiting for those who have gone through this type of abuse and are now wanting to come forth and be released from bondage.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Wow, Smashwords, have contributed to this success by allowing me to publish my book on its site and at a affordable rate. This is where not only does the hurting get a chance to find their healing, but it will be available for them to download it as well.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me, is to know that if I can reach one person with my writing and it brings them joy, peace and restoration from a past abuse. Then I have done what God has called me to do.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans, mean everything, that my ministry can provide for them. A true factor to the God we serve. I feel if they see the Spirit of God residing in me, through my work, then our connection will stay true to the cause. Assisting those of us who have been hurt, to come forward and be delivered.
What are you working on next?
A book on relationships. How to overcome the abusive ones, and letting go of the ones, God did not put you in, nor give you to.
Who are your favorite authors?
There are too many to count. I hold close to my heart are;Mary Monroe, me of course, T.D Jakes and Joyce Meyer
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing that my phone will soon ring, with someone on the other line, needing to talk to me about their hurt and pain. The wanting to be released through prayer, and spiritual counseling. Being there for my clients, both new and hurting. Just to be there for them, is worth it all.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Writing songs, praising God, and spending time with my family. My husband and I still have date nights on Friday. Sundays and Wednesdays, are for church and Bible Study.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I am sort of a computer geek, so I am always finding new ways of reading, playing games or working on portable devices and electronics.
