Interview with Thomas Wehrs

Published 2018-07-26.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
For me writing is expressing myself with my view on things or my view of the world. Sometimes I have difficulties to find the right word to express my emotion or to explain what I feel. In that moment I trust my intuition to be able to find expressions or words - without thinking to much about it.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are the most important part of my writing. If they don´t get what I am trying to say - I have to look into myself and find other ways to express my feelings. With the feedback of my fans I could get better in my writing.
What are you working on next?
My next book is going to show the effects digitization will have in our professional world, our changing attitudes and behaviour regarding KI and the free will.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Matthieu Ricard, Daniel Kahnemann and Jan Kalbitzer.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
To make the difference that makes a difference to the life of other people.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to travel - not only abroad - and to experience other constructions of life and daily issues.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh yes - it was about leadership and how we should enable our employees to be a leader before searching for external potential
What is your writing process?
Very easy: I think a topic through, make some notes and start finding the red line in it - after sketching the topic with the red line I start writing and adding and adding to the story - sometimes more details and sometimes another perspective if possible.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I was thrilled when my professor at University complimented me on the structure, the outlines and my own thoughts on the theme. That gave me strengh to move on and start another story.
How do you approach cover design?
With profesional support by an agency, they are specialized on grafic design for books.
