Interview with Tony Sayers

What do you read for pleasure?
I have always been interested in truth. I remember even as a child I was never really interested in the non-fiction books, I guess this is reflected in this book I have just published, its all about truth!
Describe your desk
My desk is always pretty clear, I live in Koh Samui in Thailand and it overlooks the ocean, so its a very peaceful and creative place to write!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a town called Southend-on Sea in the UK. Its a seaside resort, and because we don't get great weather in the UK when we do everyone from east London comes down so it can get quite crowded! I wouldn't say growing up there influenced my writing as such, I feel a lot more creative when I am away from there actually!
When did you first start writing?
Well I have been stuck in the whole 9-5 grind most of my life, it was only until I hit 33 I realised that I had never got in touch with my creative side, so it really blossomed from there. So really only about 5 years.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Its really just to question what we are told, life is pretty much set out for us as soon as we are born, we are all supposed to fit into these tiny boxes until the day we die. I found it weird that everyone just accepts this system so off I went on a journey of self discovery, this book is the culmination of that.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I have only just joined so we will wait and see! Im excited just to get my creation out there for the World to see to be honest. The book is raw and from the heart, if just one person reads it then I will still be happy!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Creation! As I said I had not tapped into those abilities. We are creative beings by our very Nature so I feel like it fills our soul when we do.
What do your fans mean to you?
I havent got too many yet, not on here anyway, but obviously your fans are important and you want to put out the very best information for them. I hope to empower them to help them grow with what I put out there.
What are you working on next?
Im playing around with ideas right now, one being the implications and effects of artificial intelligence on the World and where that may lead.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
To be the best version of myself, to make an impact on the World, to create. I just want to get to the end of my life knowing I exhausted all of my potential.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to keep fit, walking, swimming, playing sports. Researching weird and wonderful information. I also really enjoy diving and exploring the ocean life.
