Interview with Tyler Rudd Hall

When did you first start writing?
When is was a kid I drew pictures books that were a cross over between my two favourite things: Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Being Canadian I also wrote/drew the Star Wars characters playing hockey.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
More freedom and the ability to work at my own pace.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The best part about writing is sitting around thinking about the cool things I want to write about. The actual writing part can be maddening but daydreaming is awesome.
What do your fans mean to you?
Would anyone actually say they don't like their fans here?
What are you working on next?
Next for me is finishing the third book in The Ronos Trilogy (fall 2014) and some more King and Wakefield short stories (King and Wakefield are my favourite characters).
Who are your favorite authors?
Chris Heimerdinger, Michael Robotham, Orson Scott Card, Michael Crichton.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Half the time the only reason I get out of bed in the morning is because I really need to go to the bathroom...
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm married, my wife is pregnant, I'm a full time student, and I'm very active in my church. I barely have time to write.
How do you approach cover design?
My wife and I went to school with designers. We had a few to choose from and chose the one that worked the best for us.
What do you read for pleasure?
Fiction. I hardly ever read nonfiction.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Published 2013-12-03.
