Interview with Tyllisa Tripp

Describe your desk
My desk is never organized. I will have sticky notes with ideas everywhere but for me that's how I piece together the best stories
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Chicago and back then it was a different adventure everyday. I put real life situations and try to place them in everyone's backyard.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in the 5th grade. I was always a part of spoken word, poetry slam or creative writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book has a piece of fiction but also my life story put together.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
They have allowed me to branch out and be myself. This is my first book and I just want everyone to get a feel with what's to come.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy is being to express myself through my words. I don't have to stumble my way through. When I am writing my words just flow as if im having a verbal conversation.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean everything to me. They are the reason I write. You never know what someone is going through and my words might help someone one day.
What are you working on next?
I am working on the sequel to Phoenix Risen called Unexpected Grind.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend my free time reading, watching movies, or playing with my dog Lola
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I type in what I am interested in and it will pop up in my search field.
What is your writing process?
I first think about what type of audience I want to attract and then I think about how to keep their attention. I will mix fiction with real life events so they are able to relate.
